Celebrating 3 Years In Sierra Leone….

Approximately 3 years ago, yesterday, we arrived to live in Freetown on a permanent basis! :lol: WooowwwW! Sooo..oo much has happened since then, I’ve learnt a lot and overall, I’m VERY happy we came. We are all happy including the children and we look forward to a brighter future and a better Sierra Leone.

When we came, we arrived into a dark capital with only few lights dotted around on the hills, today light is available almost 24/7! Now, that’s something! And I’m brimming with hope and excitement.

Safe? sure safer than many other countries I’ve been to, that includes London and Ghana for that matter. So long as you don’t get mixed up in the wrong crowd. Here, women walk the streets at night – no problem. People look after each other round here.

I’ve had some friends ask me this so I thought, I’ll put together a post for those of you wishing to come

back home for good.

Now before I go on, in view of the dire health system here, I’ll advice anyone with chronic or serious illness which demands frequent hospital visits to stay where you are if you’re being looked after well. :lol: On the other hand if you have to come, you’ll need to find which hospitals and doctors you need to see here and perhaps arrange for your necessary medication to be sent to you from abroad. All is not lost!
