Business Bomba Competition 2011 – The Grand Finale

I’ve been wanting to post this but I’ve had problems with getting my camera connected with my laptop (lost the lead  ) hence the delay. Nevertheless Business Bomba Phase II 2010/2011 was concluded in a Grand Finale prizes-being-handed-out on the 23rd of April amid much pomp and fanfare at the Miatta Conference Center at the Youyi Building.

As usual, this was a business affair and quite forma. I really must commend AFFORD who organised it as it was the only function connected to the 50th Anniversary that seemed well thought out and organised without any dramas and sob stories, excuses etc…..believe me there were plenty that would make you shake your head! For the sake of my heart, I laugh at most and hope for the better.

Here’s the serious stuff:

Business Bomba 2 Underway & See The Successes Of The Previous Winners

After the success of the first Business Bomba Business Plan Competiion, the second edition is now underway with business plan application date closing yesterday 14th of January, 2011. A short list of 60 business plans will be made out of the total of more than 400 applications so far for intense training and finally the deserving winners will be selected. Winner will walk away with Le100million leones (about $25,000) which is not bad at all!

The first Business Bomba, helped a great deal and at the here are pictures of some of the products currently on the market by 3 of the Top 20 prize winners.

Moringa Tea

I’ve tasted it and it’s similar to Green Tea. Tastes better without milk. and oh I add honey from another Business Bomba winner

Organic Honey

This is my favourite of all! This honey doesn’t cake in the fridge as most of the imported others you get at the super market  If you are a wholesaler/retailer and you fancy pure organic honey, just send me a note and I’ll get back to you. This product is pure Salone joy!

Dr Eammons Pineapple Juice

Contains about 6% alcohol. Having tasted it, it’s not bad at all. The labelling can be better but this is a Sierra Leone product worth exporting!

Dr Eamonns Drink Dr Eamonns Rum Refresher

There are at least 3 more products- like cattle farming, cocoa plantation and cassava factory – that I know about which the respective owners have developed and are very promising…

Update

Recently bought home-made sierra leone chocolate…hmmm things are happening….. will bring you more info on that one.

I’ve got good news today…well actually it happened on Tuesday: I finally received my Business Registration Certificate!! BRAVO!.  Feel like I’ve fought a real battle and WON but without any fanfare or trumpets! I’ll tell you why: in exchange for not succumbing to any shady tricks, I sacificed precious time.

In continuation, to my previous posts (read Part 1 and Part 2), I went to the OARG on Monday and I finally got the NRA personnel who was missingon Friday – to sign the written statement. My Business Registration was then printed but it had no signature and after waiting for an hour or so, I gave up and told Mr B. I’ll come back on Tuesday.
