Today, I went out to Godridge and low and behold! the “big guns” were out! I mean the heavy road equipment were out clearing the busy road from Juba all the way to Lumley Police station! I’m sooooooo excited! I mean Lumley will look brilliant once the road gets a new makeover. And if they tackle and widen that bridge to Juba that will be even better!

I can hear the cynics like many who’ve told me how the “government hasn’t got the guts to do it”, “Oh they will loose the elections etc etc”. Nonsense!!!!

Perhaps for fear of loosing elections, governments in the past have not done anything. This is GOo…oood progress, one to be lauded. I ply that route almost everyday and this for me is MOST welcome news.

Sierra Leone is getting a facelift and I tell you, it’s not just Freetown. Just this week, as the President “turned the soil” of the Leone Lodge in Small Bo in the Kenema District, he said that all the roads in the headquater towns will be rehabilitated or constructed! That’s super news road development will open up the country like no other and travelling will be soooooo much easier.

So for those of us who have hope, our hopes will be realised!
