5 Things You Need When Relocating To Sierra Leone For Good

I’ve had some friends ask me this so I thought, I’ll put together a post for those of you wishing to come

moving-house

back home for good.

Now before I go on, in view of the dire health system here, I’ll advice anyone with chronic or serious illness which demands frequent hospital visits to stay where you are if you’re being looked after well. :lol: On the other hand if you have to come, you’ll need to find which hospitals and doctors you need to see here and perhaps arrange for your necessary medication to be sent to you from abroad. All is not lost!

Bumbuna Down For A Week…

Back to the darkness we’ve not experienced for sometime. Not impressed :mad: but at least they gave notice. Wonder how often this will be. When one gets used to electricity, it’s hard to go back to the pitch blackness that pervades when it’s absent.

Now getting used to noisy generators, candles, torches… etc all over again :mad: and oh I’m about to fry all the fish in my freezer to prevent them from getting spoilt…

We’re expecting the light back on Friday / Saturday. FYI

Painting Freetown Red On Valentine’s Day!

Everywhere where you look , you see red in Freetown today! There’s something about celebrating

Valentine’s Day in Freetown that makes it interesting. People acutally go out of their way to wear red – red top, red band, red ribbon, red flower bands etc… somehow I never noticed it last year.

This year however, after church and a little rest we decided to head for town to see what was happening. Apart from romantic dinners in top restaurants, lovey-dovey couples were on the beautiful beaches of Freetown especially, Lumley, every nook and crany was filled with lovebirds.  Others were swimming, playing beach volley ball, football what have you.
